The Fluke 1577 is a digital insulation multimeter designed for troubleshooting, maintenance, and prevention of electrical and electronic insulation problems. It combines the features of a digital multimeter and a digital insulation tester.

1. Insulation Resistance Testing: The meter can measure insulation resistance up to 2 GΩ (gigaohm) with selectable test voltages of 500V and 1000V. This allows you to check the integrity of insulation on various electrical components and systems.
2. True RMS Multimeter Measurements: The Fluke 1577 can perform a wide range of electrical measurements, including AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, resistance, continuity, capacitance, and frequency. It uses True RMS (Root Mean Square) measurement technology to provide accurate readings for both sinusoidal and non-sinusoidal waveforms.
3. Auto-ranging and Manual-ranging: The meter offers both auto-ranging and manual-ranging modes for convenience and flexibility. Auto-ranging automatically selects the appropriate measurement range, while manual-ranging allows you to manually select the range for more specific measurements.
4. Low-Pass Filter: The low-pass filter helps isolate and identify voltage and frequency signals originating from variable frequency drives (VFDs) and other electronic noise sources to ensure accurate measurements.
5. Min/Max Recording: The meter can record maximum and minimum values of a measurement over a period of time, allowing you to monitor and capture intermittently occurring anomalies.
6. Backlit Display: The large, backlit display provides clear visibility of readings in various lighting conditions, including low-light environments.
